Avoid junk in iPhone arcade game The Incident
Retro-style game has you evading debris for high scores
After arcade platformer The Incident was announced for iPhone and iPod touch, our two-day accident-free workplace streak ended.
Sadly, one of our interns dropped a cup of hot coffee in his lap in shock over the game's harrowing premise. As nasty as those scalds look, it's nothing compared to what the game's hero has to endure.
You control the poor guy as debris falls from the skies. Avoiding them is your goal, survival your score. In other words, staying alive by evading falling objects is the name of the game.
The debut trailer (viewable below) shows delightful retro graphics and a slew of objects ranging from a refrigerator to a railroad crossing to the sarcophagus of King Tut. Special accolades are given out for dying under the weight of particular items.
Developer Big Bucket Software, which crafted physics puzzler Pocketball, has provided no more detail aside from the fact it's "coming soon."
The Incident will be available for iPhone and iPod touch later this year.
