Orange to be Apple's UK iPad partner?

Apples and Oranges - makes sense

Orange to be Apple's UK iPad partner?
|

The iPad itself was only revealed yesterday, and although the US partner for the 3G-equipped model was revealed as AT&T, Steve Jobs didn't have any details on which network would be striking up a deal for the UK version.

The Times is citing unnamed sources as saying Orange is already in negotiations with Apple to be its official UK partner. This does tie in with Orange previously hinting at the iPad when the rumours were running wild: deputy CEO Stephane Richard cryptically suggested the device would be 3G ready.

Then again, he also said it'd have a webcam, so who knows what to believe.

What's a bit baffling about the whole network partnership thing Apple is doing is that Steve Jobs announced all iPads will be unlocked, so it seems you'll be able to shop around for your own mobile broadband provider (so long as they use the new micro SIMs).

What we'd really like to know are the iPad's international prices.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
