One of the things Steve Jobs initially didn't make any mention of at the Apple launch of the iPad is 3G cellular connectivity, leading us to think it was going to be wi-fi only.

But just like the iPhone and iPod touch, it's going to come in two flavours - 3G and non-3G. Deals are already in place for the US, which will begin with AT&T.

For $14.99, iPad users will get 250MB of data per month, which didn't get a great reaction from the crowd - that's not so hot. But for double that ($29.99), the data provision goes unlimited, which was far better received.

Deals are currently being struck for other territories around the world, and are expected to be in place by June.

Best of all, however, is that all iPad 3G's will be unlocked, and won't be coming on contract. So long as you can get a new GSM micro SIM from your network provider, you can use the data service of your choice.

Want to know how much the six different models will run up? Chris can tell you right here.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
