Tony Hawk might be a no-show on the UK App Store, but EA's Skate It has ground its way onto European shores, and is now available to purchase on iPhone and iPod touch.

Based on the console skating series, Skate It is slightly more realistic and reserved than its Xtreme, gravity-defying friend, Tony Hawk.

The iPhone game mixes accelerometer movement with gesture taps and swipes, to hopefully give you access to a skater's entire trick library.

You can read Will's hands on with it here.

Catch some air

Skate it features a bunch of pro boarders and a custom skater edit suite. You can then take that creation through its paces in career mode, or simply freeskate around San Vanelona.

Owning challenges gives you new gear, unlocks fresh skate spots and goes towards building your own killer skate park.

The game also features similar video replays to its console cousin. Your every move is being captured by the game, so you can replay your last few minutes of footage to show your buddies a particularly awesome trick, a particularly gruesome bail.

Skate It by EA is available now on iPhone and iPod touch for $6.99 / £3.99 / €5.49.

And here's what it looks like in motion.
