Rumour: iPhone 5 won't launch until September or October
New annual cycle
Japanese website Macotakara is reporting that Apple won't launch a new iPhone model in June or July as in most of the previous years, and will instead launch the device sometime during autumn.
According to an unnamed source, the Cupertino-based tech company will bring its new phone to market in either September or October - just as it did with the iPhone 4S.
Furthermore, the unnamed source suggests that Apple will stick to this new annual cycle for all of its future generations of iPhone.
Maybe not
If true, this rumour puts paid to a recent DigiTimes report that suggested Apple would launch its next iPhone at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
This, of course, takes place around June.
Naturally, we won't know until Apple begins to send out media invitations to WWDC, but an autumn launch for the 'iPhone 5' does appear to be the more logical choice.
