Rumour: iPhone 5 to be unveiled at Apple's WWDC

The iPhone 5 rumour mill is turning once again, with a quote from Daiwa Securities suggesting that Apple's next handset will be unveiled at the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

According to DigiTimes, the securities brokerage company has spoken to Chinese newspaper Commercial Times and revealed that Apple will use its summer technology showcase - normally staged in early June - to reveal the eagerly awaited iPhone 5 to the masses.

This rumour comes hot on the heels of reports that the iPhone 5 is entering production at Foxconn's Chinese plant.

It goes without saying that Apple has yet to confirm any of these rumours, and that the iPhone maker will likely remain tight-lipped until shortly before the grand unveiling.

It's also worth pointing out that this rumour was published by the same media outlet that claimed the iPhone 5 would be sporting a curved glass display. Make of that what you will.
