New screens of Luc Bernard's iPhone RPG SteamPirates
PSP version also announced
Luc Bernard's development studio Oyaji Games has released a batch of new screenshots for their upcoming role-playing game SteamPirates.
Joining the new screenshots of the iPhone version is news that the game will be released as a PSP mini as well. Both editions are slated for release next year.
Previously revealed over the summer, SteamPirates has you navigating a side-scrolling world filled with bizarre characters and unusual locales. Talking dogs, cats, and pirates drive the game's original story forward.
Bernard divulged the story's set up last month, explaining that it follows a human named Kat who faces a difficult decision to either defend the Cat Empire or join the canine resistance.
"After she [Kat] found out that she wasn't a cat (she just thought that she didn't have any fur or a tail), she went out to the seas to find herself (it left her deeply traumatised)," explains Bernard.
"A few years later once she comes back, the Cat Empire is now ruled by Captain Purrrrrrrkos who is trying to take over the oceans. Kat must then decide to either stay loyal to the ones that raised her, or join Ze Pug Rebellion."
SteamPirates will be available on iPhone and PSP sometime in 2010.
