SteamPirates is the latest project from Luc Bernard, the infamous indie developer best known for the following: Eternity's Child, declaring he's quit the games industry forever, subsequently returning to the game's industry, and Mecho Wars.

Regardless of his turbulent past, Bernard has released his second iPhone game today with an impressive looking brand new game. SteamPirates is a casual mixture of RPG and Adventure, set in a world that blends swashbuckling piracy with steampunk inventions.

You'll fight off armies of cats and robots in typical role-playing fashion, before popping off to explore the world and do some light platforming. This is all done over seven islands, a handful of epic ship battles, and in a promised six to eight hour adventure.

SteamPirates is available now on iPhone and iPod touch for £1.79 / $2.99 / €2.39.
