Yoot Saito’s The Tower coming to iPad
Seaman creator takes another stab at App Store
Wacky Japanese auteur Yoot Saito, creator of such mental experiments as Seaman (a sarcastic fish with a man’s face, narrated by Leonard Nimoy) and Odama (a combination of everyone’s favourite genres: pinball and military sim) is taking another stab at Apple’s App Store.
His first game, GABO, was rejected for being too unpleasant. Even in a world of fart apps, sperm games, and zit poppers, Apple found a caveman pooping on a desert island just a little too much, and banned the game outright from the store.
Now, Saito is trying again with his far less contentious game, The Tower, aka Sim Tower aka Yoot Tower. Released on PC, Mac, Game Boy Advance, and DS, The Tower is like Sim City but with a vertical twist, tasking you with constructing and managing the perfect sky scraper.
TouchArcade noticed the designer’s blog now sports a spiffy new banner that confirms The Tower is heading to iPad soon. And, luckily, there should be nothing to halt the game hitting the App Store this time round.
