Marmalade Game Studio has just announced a reimagined version of the iconic Asmodee board game, Ticket to Ride, with a brand-new video game set to launch on PC, console, and mobile. Originally published in 2004, the physical game was awarded best game of the year and is widely regarded as one of the best board games of all time.

Ticket to Ride has sold over 15 million copies worldwide and is pretty much a staple of any board game collection. This upcoming digitized version aims to expand its reach even more as anyone will be able to play it anywhere and at any time. It gives an opportunity to both new players who want to check out the game as well as veterans looking to return.

Currently, a Ticket to Ride video game developed by Twin Sails does exist, but it is being rebranded to Ticket to Ride: Classic Edition in all game stores. By October 3rd, it will be removed from PC and mobile markets, while console users will have access until April 2024. Of course, no in-app purchases will be possible anymore.

The newer version comes with loads of changes and features that make gameplay feel fresher and more refined. It promises an enhanced experience thanks to a host of improvements and additions. Both new and old players will be captivated by novel methods of playing, making it a thrilling journey for everyone.

Speaking about the partnership that is behind the game, Mike Willis, co-CEO of Marmalade Game Studio, said: “Ticket to Ride is the first collaboration between Asmodee Entertainment and Marmalade Game Studio. Given our track record in the board game genre of video games and Asmodee Group impeccably curated portfolio of fan favourite games, this is set to be the start of a very exciting journey. Having played the board game for two decades now, we are honoured to be trusted with its digital implementation. We are building a modern game that we hope will be the bedrock of this fantastic brand in the digital space.”

Ticket to Ride will be released on Steam in November 2023. Mobile and console users will have to wait until 2024 to get their hands on the game.
