Hands-On Mobile to bring console axe-spanker to phones

Guitar Hero going mobile: it's official!

We wrote last month about rumours of a Guitar Hero game for mobile phones. Well, it's finally confirmed: Hands-On Mobile has announced plans to release the game.

That's about all it has announced, mind. There's no indication of when the game will be out, who's developing it – although we suspect it'll be SoniVox, judging by our previous story – and what form the game will take.

On one level, the idea of a mobile Guitar Hero sounds guaranteed to disappoint. There's no way you can recreate the thrills of thrashing a guitar peripheral on your PlayStation 2 using a mobile phone, after all.

But that's not to say the mobile game won't be a fun title in its own right. Let's just hope it does something new around the music genre, rather than trying to shoehorn the console game down to phone-size.

Rest assured, as soon as we learn more info, we'll have it for you here. Click 'Track It!' for updates.
