Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter coming to PSP Minis
Go bag yourself a T-Rex
One of the better hunting games to be released on the iPhone, we're glad to see that Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is making the transition to PSP Minis.
"Methodical and hugely satisfying, Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter isn't your typical shooter and while it makes considerable demands of the player, the feeling of reward you get in return is immense," said Pocket Gamer's Damien McFerran in his iPhone review.
Published by Ukrainian company Beatshapers, from Tatem's iOS original, it brings the first-person tracking and shooting action to Sony's portable widescreen.
Prehistoric simThere are 15 dinosaur types for you to attempt to hunt, but you'll have to work your way up from harmless plant eaters before you get to the more dangerous prey such as Allosaurus, Velociraptor, and of course the T-Rex.
There are six types of weapons - from the X-bow to the sniper's rifle - but this isn't a run-and-gun game. You'll have to use your map and radar to locate your prey, as well as moving carefully through the environment to get a good shooting spot.
And despite its fantasy subject matter, features such as wind direction in terms of whether the dinosaur can smell your scent, as well as what its reaction is if it smells you - flee or attack - are critical to your success.
Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is due out in August.
You can see how it plays in the following video.
