Daigasso! Band Brothers DX has just been released in Japan, and it seems the rhythm game bundled some sort of piracy protection which prevented its downloaded ROM to work as they do for many DS games.

However, after initial reports on internet forums the ROM wouldn't load on many types of flash cart, hackers soon found a way around it. There's still one problem though, and that is that the game only comes with 30 installed tracks. Another 200 are available to download via wi-fi, which isn't possible to do with an illegitimate version of the game.

No doubt the pirates will be looking to create a patch to fix this problem, but at least Nintendo has managed to temporarily stall them. We're just hoping the game gets a western release at some point in the coming years (let's face it, it's not going to be in the coming months).
