Last month Japan's weekly gaming magazine Famitsu revealed the existence of a sequel to Daigasso! Band Brothers on DS - a brilliant rhythm game which, for some reason, no one saw fit to release outside of Japan.

Now the same magazine has reported that the sequel, called Band Brothers DX, will be compatible with the Wii. The game will use the forthcoming Speaker Channel to allow players to both stream songs through their TV and share songs and performances with others online.

This would mean the game could be played at a nice high volume - especially if your TV has decent speakers. If the game also includes the same eight player mode as the original, it would no doubt transform the multiplayer into an even better group experience, not to mention a louder one.

Finally, the channel will mean tracks can be uploaded online and shared with others. Presumably both your own song creations and your best performances or jamming sessions will be able to be shared.

This is all exciting news, not least because a new Speaker Channel could be used to enhance more DS games in the future. And of course, it does mean we're going have to start some sort of petition of protest if Nintendo decides not to release Band Brothers DX here. We'll keep our fingers crossed for an announcement to be made soon, and update you as soon as it comes.
