Nintendo released the Pokédex 3D Pro in Japan this week, giving Pokemon fans a new way to collect and catalogue their favorite pokecritters.

The Pokédex 3D Pro is a tie-in with the recently released Pokemon Black & White 2, and it's available in the eShop for ¥1,500 (~$19 / £12).

While the price may seem steep, the Pokédex 3D Pro will feature detailed information on all 600 or so Pokemon featured in the history of the Pokemon game franchise.

Over 600 Pokemon at your fingertips

Pokédex 3D Pro allows users to engage in in-depth sorting and ranking of the individual Pokemon based on their type and attributes. Additionally, it covers all of the abilities learned by a specific Pokemon as it evolves.

What sets the Pokédex 3D Pro apart from a common Pokemon strategy wiki, however, is that it allows users to take pictures of Pokemon in the real world using the Nintendo 3DS’s 3D camera.

The Pokédex 3D Pro will be released in the West this Autumn, following the release of Pokemon Black & White 2.
