Nintendo of America has announced that the Pokedex 3D Pro will be available for download from the 3DS eShop starting on November 8th.

While Nintendo has not revealed pricing for the Pokedex 3D Pro, it is currently available in Japan for ¥1,500 ($19 / £12).

This price may seem steep in comparison to the freeware Pokedex 3D currently available on the eShop, but the Pokedex 3D Pro catalogs some 640 Pokemon over the freeware version's 150, making it quite appealing to the more serious Pokemon enthusiasts.

Nintendo also announced that the freeware Pokedex 3D will be removed from the eShop on October 1st – mere days before the launch of Pokemon Black & White 2.

AR you ready?

In addition to the encyclopedic cataloging of most all Poke-critters from the Pokemon franchise, the Pokedex 3D Pro gives methodical trainers the ability to conduct in-depth sorting of the individual Pokemon by their type and attributes.

But what really sets the Pokedex 3D Pro apart from the freeware version is its AR photography feature, which allows 3DS owners to snap pictures of Pokemon superimposed on the real world.

Nintendo has yet to provide pricing or a date for a European release of Pokedex 3D Pro.
