Lex is a smart word game that mixes Scrabble with the more frantic aspects of mobile puzzlers to great effect. It's just hit the App Store in New Zealand, which means it'll be landing in the UK at midnight tonight.

Each game sees you given a chunk of letters. These letters have points values. The higher the points value, the longer it'll stick around. If you fail to use a letter before its timer runs out, it's game over.

Once you've used a letter it's replaced by another one. You need to chuck up words as fast as you can, building up a combo score and a wonderful word image as you do.

The game will set you back 69p / 99c when it hits the App Store later tonight, and we reckon it's probably worth that.
