I-play has launched its Bubble Town puzzler for iPhone and iPod touch, following its success on mobile and Facebook.

The game, which costs £2.39 on the App Store here in the UK, is a colourful Puzzle Bobble style game, which uses the iPhone's accelerometer and touchscreen.

I-play is hoping the game will do well on Apple's store, and it's got a decent chance of standing out from the crowd, given the 472,426 monthly active users (at the time of writing) playing the Facebook version.

However, we wonder if I-play has missed a trick in taking the game to iPhone. The Facebook version lets players see their friends' scores as they play, but that feature doesn't appear to be in the iPhone game.

Perhaps the publisher will put this feature in the game in a future update: this is exactly the kind of thing the Facebook Connect technology has been designed to enable, after all.
