Gamevil goes for the wisdom of crowds for Boom It Up icon design
More eyeballs is more brain power
Icon design is a serious business, as was proved by developer Imangi Studios during the prolonged iterative process for its game Harbor Master.
Korean publisher Gamevil went lateral Web 2.0 when it came to the icon design for its forthcoming title Boom It Up however.
It posted up a series of possible images on its Facebook site, asking fans what they thought about the various options.
Of course, the final design was a hybrid, which could be seen as either a failure of the initial conditions or perhaps the fulfillment of the design process writ large.
