Samsung to launch Galaxy S III at London press event on May 3rd
Not long now
It looks like Samsung's hotly anticipated Galaxy S III smartphone will be launched at a press event in London on May 3rd.
After it failed to appear at this year's Mobile World Congress, people were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Galaxy S II's successor at a special Samsung event in France on March 22nd.
Alas, the South Korean handset manufacturer elected not to show off the Galaxy III at that event, but it did confirm that the blower would be unveiled during the first half of 2012.
This morning, Dutch tech website Tweakers.net published an image bearing the words: "Come and meet the next Galaxy".
According to the Dutch site, this image is part of an e-invitation that is currently popping up in press inboxes all over the world.
If this is true, that means there are but 17 days left until we can finally put an end to the speculation surrounding the Galaxy S III's specs.
What's in the box?The latest rumours suggest the Galaxy S III will arrive with a quad-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus display.
If the invitation is legitimate, we'll know for sure on May 3rd. We'll see you in London.
