According to Korean website DDaily, the next iteration of Samsung's Galaxy S smartphone, the Galaxy S III, will feature an impressive 4.65-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280x720.

If this display does make it onto the front of Sammy's upcoming phone, it'll be the company's first non-PenTile OLED display to pack a high-def resolution.

The Galaxy S III's screen is also rumoured to have a pixel density of around 316 ppi, which isn't far behind the ppi of the iPhone 4S's gorgeous Retina display (326 ppi, if you were wondering).

Samsung has apparently told AsiaE that it's already begun to test the new Galaxy device with Korean carriers, but this is proving to be a challenge due to the phone's quad-core processor and LTE capabilities.

Last we heard, the Samsung Galaxy S III was rumoured to launch this May.
