Disney's Tap Tap Revenge 4 to mark launch of in-app purchases on Android Market
Spring launch planned
Promised at the end of January, Google used its big press event at its HQ in California to cast new light on the roll out of its in-app purchase system for Android Market.
As previously detailed, the new payments set up won't hit the platform until Q1 2011, but it has already tapped up its first title.
Tapping to the top
According to publisher Disney, Tap Tap Revenge 4 – which marks the franchise's first appearance on Android – is the perfect title for the new set up, with developers taking just five days to assimilate the new code into the game.
Tap Tap can already boast franchise wide downloads of 50 million on iOS, but had so far avoided taking its brand of rhythm-action gameplay to Google's OS.
However, Disney now plans to release two other titles on Android in the immediate future – Radio Disney and Jelly Car showcased at the event after the Tap Tap Revenge announcement.
Google also launched the first browser-friendly version of Android Market at the event – itself designed to as an exercise garner press attention for the tablet focused version of Android 3.0, otherwise known as Honeycomb.
