Early 2009 European line up revealed by Glu
|

‘Glu the zoo’ would be another suitable strapline for this announcement, it seems.

We took a look at Glu’s American release schedule the other day, and now we’ve received the list of what European pocket gamers can look forward to. The good news is we've already got reviews, videos and news of several of them, so follow the links to find out which Glu games are up your alley.

For us, the first quarter schedule is definitely headlined by Snake’s return in Metal Gear Acid 2, which sees the aging, one-eyed hero being led into a trap by the US military that you’ve got to get him out of.

Hamster Mansion is equally intriguing, with its rodent-based parody of gangster games as you attempt to build a sweet place for you hamster’s posse to chill out amidst the difficulties of a gopher run ‘hood.

And if gameshows are your thing, there’s Jeopardy! Deluxe (must be American, that one, but it looks like it’s coming to Europe nonetheless) and Power of 10, with its $10 million virtual jackpot up for grabs.

Although it’s missed the movie boat by a few months, Glu is also bringing us the mobile game of the card-counting Vegas heist movie, 21, with the slightly revised game title of Blackjack 21.

Alongside the usual pontoon gameplay, it seems you’re tasked with counting cards and avoiding the casino bosses. Quite a dynamic twist on the usual blackjack gameplay, being as you’re actively encouraged to cheat. Nice.

The remainder of the line up ties in with Glu’s worldwide release strategy, and includes Monsters vs Aliens, Lemmings Tribes, Demolition Derby, Build-a-lot, Watchmen: The Mobile Game and Family Feud.

All in all, this looks like a pretty splendid way to get the mobile platform moving again in 2009, eh?

Spanner Spencer
Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
