As part of its deal with Warner Bros, Glu has signed up to deliver the mobile game version of the anticipated Watchmen adaptations due to hit consoles, cinemas, shops, T-shirts, lunchboxes and packets of breakfast cereal in 2009.

"We are excited to continue our relationship with Warner Bros to create the mobile game based on this highly anticipated film," said Jill Braff, Glu's senior vice president of global publishing. "Like the film, the mobile game will engage long-time fans of the novel, as well as those who are getting to know Watchmen for the first time."

Watchmen is DC Comic's most popular graphic novel series due to its depiction of superheroes as real, ordinary people (many fans have criticised the TV show Heroes as something of a rip-off of Watchmen before now - other says it's a homage).

The long awaited cinematic adaptation is due in 2009, and the games are presumably being readied for a simultaneous promotional launch of Watchmen's transition to every form of entertainment medium available.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
