Super Hexagon developer lists VVVVVV as coming soon to iOS/Android
Flippin' awesome!
There's good news for mobile fans of the indie gaming scene - the Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning PC/3DS platformer VVVVVV is making its way over to iOS and Android.
Terry Cavanaugh, the developer behind VVVVVV and Super Hexagon posted a picture on both his iOS and Android apps pages that showed Viridian, the protagonist of VVVVVV, as an animated .gif next to the words 'coming soon…'
Released for the PC in 2010, VVVVVV became a cult indie hit for its simplistic graphics and interesting platform gameplay. Players can flip onto the ceiling at will and navigate impassible terrain and pits of spikes before flipping back onto the floor.
VVVVVV came to the 3DS e-shop in December of 2011.
Cavanaugh also confirmed via Twitter that his next game Don't Look Back would come to iOS soon, but encountered a hiccough and was rejected by Apple. Don't Look Back is currently available for free on Google Play
