Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II to launch on iOS 'as close to May 16th as possible'

Back on Wednesday, we told you that owners of Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 and the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II game will be able to get their hands on a special Episode Metal story.

What we couldn't tell you, though, is when you can expect to see the forthcoming episode in Sonic's latest adventure on the App Store, Google Play, and Windows Marketplace.

We still don't have a solid release date, in all honesty, but it looks like Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II will arrive on iOS and Tegra-powered Android devices in May. Owners of other Android gadgets will see the game in June, with Windows Phone punters able to get their hands on it in July.

Dead CERT

We contacted the brand manager for Sonic The Hedgehog 4, Ken Balough, and asked whether he could elaborate on the expected iOS release date.

"The reason we have not elaborated beyond May for iOS is we are not through submission. Once we pass CERT with Apple we can announce a date - but we are aiming for as close to the May 16th date as possible," he said.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode II will also be available on PSN from May 15th and on XBLA from May 16th.
