LG has announced the Optimus Sol - its brand new 'user-friendly' Android 2.3-powered device.

Set to hit Europe in mid-September, the Optimus Sol will feature a 5-megapixel snapper and a 3.8-inch ultra AMOLED display.

Power-wise, the phone will boast a 1GHz processor, and will also come complete with support for Flash 10.1.

“The Optimus Sol stands out from its competitors as the most affordable 1 GHz Android smartphone with an AMOLED display,” LG president and CEO Dr Jong-seok Park said.

“By introducing a no-nonsense phone that boasts one of the best displays on the market, we think we have a real winner for consumers looking for a subtle but visually stunning phone.”

The LG Optimus Sol - available in black, "titan", and white - will roll-out across Central and South America following its European release.
