Die repeatedly, artistically in Dynamite Jack with these new kill screens
Boom goes the dynamite
Phil Hassey’s top-down iOS stealth adventure game Dynamite Jack is due out for the iPad this summer, and it's packing in an extra bonus that should make failure interesting in itself.
The Galcon developer recently stated that he felt the character deaths in Dynamite Jack lacked any real emotional impact.
To remedy this oversight, Hassey invoked the cartoonishly gruesome deaths of Space Quest’s Roget Wilco to help spice up the frequent death scenes of Dynamite Jack.
Death is unavoidable, art is optional
The new deaths advertised by Hassey are available by enabling Roger Wilco mode in the game's settings. Failure to do so will result in less inspired, fade-to-black deaths.
The point of the stealth game (due out for the iPad on July 1st) is to sneak and escape from the Anathema Mines, but after seeing the kitsch charm of these death scenes you might be forgiven for sending Dynamite Jack to the great beyond a few times more than is strictly necessary.
