Is the PSP slowly turning into the iPhone?
All the indications say 'yes'
According to story submitted by a reader to Kotaku, Sony has distributed a survey asking what features its users would like to see in future iterations of the much beleaguered PSP. Interesting thing: at a glance, the device Sony is proposing sounds like the iPhone.
Amongst the feature ideas Sony floats are a touchscreen, smaller size, an improved screen for dynamic graphic displays, a hard drive for memory storage, and Bluetooth wireless support.
I've got one of them.
We can’t blame Sony for going down this road. Since the success of the DS Lite made it clear that Sony needed to offer something more than games, the company has scrambled to provide a host of non-gaming functions. Then, in a single move Apple arrived at Sony’s second flank and proceeded to crush it.
Competition is always a good thing for gamers, of course. We’re looking forward to whatever it is Sony comes out with next. If it copies its rivals judiciously, it could be sweet.
