It was sad news that THQ Wireless decided to pull out of the mobile market (especially for those who lost their jobs), and fans of the long lived Worms franchise will have been sorry to see the artillery game disappear from their handsets.

But according to Mobile Entertainment, EA Mobile has just struck up a deal with THQ to license the Worms franchise for the mobile on a worldwide scale. Change isn’t always good, but EA is well known for fully exploiting its licenses, so if the deal pans out we can expect to see a lot more Worms wriggling across our mobile screens.

THQ Wireless didn’t shut down entirely, however, but had its resources turned toward the high end platforms like the DS, PSP and iPhone, so presumably EA won’t be handing out Worms by the pound on those devices.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
