In keeping with the country's international reputation as the acceptable face of North America, ngmoco has launched its new online freemium game We Rule only on the Canadian App Store.

Of course not.

Launching these sort of games is difficult in terms working out the network balancing and making sure you have enough servers and the like, so launching in a small and well behaved country like Canada means you can test your systems before inviting in the great US unwashed.

Coming across a bit like an iPhone version of Farmville meets a fantasy SimCity, We Rule sees you acting as a city planner and landscaper, customising your realm with buildings, banners, and botany.

You decide what crops to plant, ensure they are harvested on time, collect taxes from your citizens and manage a variety of shops and businesses - from bakeries and inns to lumber mills and ore mines.

The overall goal is to make your kingdom as big and prosperous as possible. Online functionality is provided by the Plus+ network.

Assuming the Canadians don't mess it up for everyone else, We Rule should launch in other national App Stores over the coming days.
