Still dealing with what might be considered chronic server issues and bugs, ngmoco and Newtoy's Farmville for iPhone, We Rule, continues to enjoy player support.

Over a month after launch, the free-to-play game remains in the US top grossing charts - albeit at #56 - and new content is now being rolled out.

Still that hasn't stopped what we reckon is the fourth apology from ngmoco CEO Neil Young about those ongoing server issues.

"As many of you have noticed we have wrestled with scaling our infrastructure due to the success of We Rule," he says on the ngmoco blog.

"Candidly, we underestimated the number of people that would play the game, the number of social connections that they would have, the number of push messages that would be sent, the number of times that they would play per day, and the number of minutes that they would play for.

"It's this that has manifested itself in connection problems at peak times where users haven't been able to log in or connections have been dropped."

Another round of changes to the We Rule and the Plus+ servers that handle the social aspects of the game are currently being rolled out.

A planting time

Onto the good news however.

New crops such as Eggplant, Magic Cauliflower, Artichokes, Magic Asparagus and Pineapples have been added. These have grow times ranging from 20 minutes to 1 day for the magical crops, which are a new class of crops targeted at power users.

Other new content added included The Barn and Ox.

"We're going to be rolling out new content on a fairly regular cadence over the course of the game's life," Young says.

"We'll be introducing new businesses, buildings, harvestable decorations and upgrades for your kingdom as well as new features."

Up and up

Another issue will be to expand options for those player who have hit the level 25 ceiling. (Not me though. I turned my kingdom into a forest at level 10.)

A future update will expand the land available for building on and add new decorations and buildings.
