Race as Lewis Hamilton in Vodafone's McLaren Mercedes F1 mobile game

You can be Fernando Alonso if you're not feeling the Lewis love

Race as Lewis Hamilton in Vodafone's McLaren Mercedes F1 mobile game

Cor, Lewis Hamilton, eh? He's taking the Formula 1 world by storm with his breakneck racing skills, although that'll come as no surprise to anyone who's ever encountered the high calibre of boy-racers in Stevenage, where he was born.

Anyway, Hamilton races for the McLaren Mercedes F1 team, which also has a lucrative sponsorship deal with Vodafone. The mobile operator has just launched a tie-in game, with the logical title Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team Racing. It's been developed by Digital Chocolate, who previously made Vodafone's Ferrari F1 game when the operator was sponsoring that team.

As you'd expect from an official game, the new title lets you race as either Hamilton or his team-mate Fernando Alonso.

The game's Championship mode sees you racing on three European tracks, including a qualification lap and full race. There are also Quick Race and Practice modes.

It's not all cold hard realism though. You'll be able to pick up red Vodafone speed boosts on each lap to give yourself a shot of turbo. We're guessing that's one of the many things that'd be ruled illegal in real F1 racing.

We'll have better screenshots in time for our review of the game, so click 'Track It!' for an update when that passes the chequered flag.
