Anime styled strategy game Valkyria Chronicles II will hit the PSP in North America on August 31st.

From Sega, Valkyria started life on PS3 as a smart turn-based strategy game, set in a bizarro version of World War II where all the soldiers are hot Japanese chicks, and all the tanks are painted electric blue.

Now the sequel, Valkyria Chronicles II, is heading to PSP as war returns to the nation of Gallia and you’re thrown back into the battle. However, you can’t just be spending all your time fighting enemies and blowing up tanks - you’ve got homework to do. You’ll have to juggle responsibilities as a solider and a military academy student.

The game will be released simultaneously on disc and as a download on the PlayStation Store, so those with PSPgos and UMD related phobias won’t miss out.

There’s no date yet for a European release. You can see some new screenshots in the gallery above.
