Street Football with Samuel Eto'o on your mobile
Gameloft gets set for some urban soccer action
Forget the poncey beach soccer that Eric Cantona plays nowadays. We'd love to see an international street soccer tournament, bringing the stars down to our level.
Played in a suburban cul-de-sac, such a game would involve David Beckham having to pick up the jumpers goalposts when a car comes through, Didier Drogba breaking a metatarsal tripping over a curb, and Ronaldinho being sent to apologise to the old lady at No. 23 for stunning her cat with a misplaced free kick. It'd be ace.
In the meantime, we'll have to live out our dreams with Gameloft's new mobile game, Ultimate Street Football. Its star is Barcelona and Cameroon star Samuel Eto'o, who provides tips and commentary throughout this four-on-four game.
The focus is decidedly on tricks, with more than 25 different dribbles (ideally performed one after the other in a Cristiano Ronaldo stylee), and a host of special shots to trigger. There are eight different streets to play in, including locations like Brazil and Japan.
The game's out imminently, so click 'Track It!' to be alerted when we review it. (In the meantime, it's 13-12, Becks has been called home for his tea, so first to hit the Ford Focus wins...)
