Treasures of Montezuma might be a smart match for mobiles

The mobile game scene needs more match-'em-up puzzlers like the British public needs more reality TV shows. Actually, that's an unfair comparison: most match-'em-up puzzlers are enjoyable.

Anyway, one of the latest to arrive is the Russian-developed Treasures of Montezuma, which holds the formidable accolade of being the most popular casual PC game in Eastern Europe.

The mobile version is said to retain all of the elements of the PC original, where you play as the beautiful and smart Dr Emily Jones. Jones has to solve a mystery that could transform the world, or so goes the obligatory backstory.

With a generous bounty of modes promised and a match-'em-up mechanic that sounds more than competent there is no reason to assume that this won't be a fun game to play. Indeed, if the popularity of the PC version is anything to go by, there's a good chance Treasures of Montezuma will end up being one of the better examples of its ever more crowded genre.
