French company Focus Home Interactive is set to publish a DS version of the popular PC track designing, car racing puzzler TrackMania.

TrackMania made its debut on PC back in 2003. If you're yet to play it, it's a bit like Micro Machines but with more emphasis on track designing, both for fun and to solve puzzle-style challenges. You get to drive a range of vehicles, create tracks with huge loops and twists to zoom around and compete in multiplayer races.

Little is known as yet about the new DS incarnation. Focus Home has simply recently added the game alongside its other forthcoming DS titles, Blood Bowl and Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle, on its website.

The DS clearly lends itself well to track designing though, as proven by the recent (and excellent) Codemasters game Race Driver: Create & Race. Dragging and dropping bits of track couldn't be easier than with a touchscreen, and there could be online races and track sharing on the cards, too.

Until the publisher releases some information on the game though, it's all speculation. Click 'Track It!' to be kept in the loop when we hear more.
