Splinter Cell: Conviction's release date for iPhone hacked
Decoded as May 24
App Store release dates are generally well known in advance, but the frictionless release of digital content means that developers prefer to announce things on the day it happens, rather than build interest as in the physical world of iPads, Blu-ray and cinema.
Gameloft was attempting to do a bit of both with its teaser campaign for Splinter Cell: Conviction; the first time Sam Fisher will step out onto iPhone.
According to Slide To Play however, its cunning plan came unstuck with a bit of experimental right mouse clicking: the game's release revealed as Monday 24 May.
Actually, we were expecting it sometime next week.
Either way, it is something to look forward to as Tracy's hands on at GDC, and the following gameplay video, demonstrate.
