GBA's not dead, just resting

The Legend of Spyro: Eternal Night helps prolong the format's life well into 2007

GBA's not dead, just resting

Don't write off the Game Boy Advance just yet. Okay, we did run a story 16 months ago suggesting that even Nintendo thought the GBA might be on its last legs. But the sheer reach of having over 100 million game consoles on shelves and in pockets around the world suggests that there's still life left for the Game Boy Advance.

Good luck to Sierra, then, which is keeping the faith and releasing a GBA version of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. It's due sometime in the autumn – October or November we reckon.

Indeed, we estimate there's currently at least 10 games being made for the console. Of course, most are movie tie-ins such as Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix, Ratatouille, and Bee Movie, while sequels of movie tie-ins in development include Avatar: The Burning Earth, Cars Mater-National and SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis.
