I don't know anything about developer Game Atelier so it's difficult to give much indication about the potential of The Flying Hamster, its PSP Minis game, other than the provided information and screenshots.

Certainly it looks the business, as you take control of Newton, the flying hamster in what's described as an "action-frenzy horizontal shooter".

There are six levels to zoom through, ranging from sunflower fields to a Japanese city and ancient Egypt, and you'll get your hamster paws on eight weapons such as a rapid fire gun, offensive bananas and flaming breath.

Your foes include umbrella-wielding penguins, anti-air cows, exploding foxes, ninja squirrels, toaster-robots, and laser-beam-for-eyes owls.

It all sounds fairly freaky.

The Flying Hamster is due out soon.
