Reports claim Tapulous is shedding staff

Tap Tap Revenge has been one of the biggest iPhone games on the App Store, but it seems all may not be well at its developer Tapulous.

TechCrunch is reporting that three of the company's key employees have left in the last week, including its first employee and a senior iPhone engineer. They follow the departure of co-founder and chief architect Mike Lee last month.

So what's the cause? The story suggests that it's over strategic differences, with the founding team wanting to continue focusing on "highly polished" apps, while CEO Bart Decrem is pursuing a more quantity-focused strategy, much like Slide has done for Facebook applications.

The story appears to have come from Decrem himself, who says that Tapulous is busy hiring new developers.

In a comment posted on that story, he clarifies further: "We are also committed to building a successful social company that follows in the footsteps of the most successful companies in the Valley, and that has led to the current transition."
