Tail Drift isn't your typical arcade combat racing game. For starters, it's a competition between planes. Secondly, the track is a floating tube in the sky.

A bit odd, then, but it's a wonderful thing to just look at. I'm a fan of bright colours, what can I say?

The game is probably best compared to Mario Kart - and I'm not saying that just because of its sunshine visuals.

You see, there are power-ups you can collect around the tracks. These are turbo boost, deadly mines, and stun cannons.

Use them right and you'll get the edge over your opponents. However, you may have to go out of your way to get them, risking a collision with a rock or other large object.

The game also has 18 events for you to compete in against your friends to be crowned the king or queen. In these, you'll fly around a mix of tracks, including floating islands, ancient temples, and desert canyons.

Tail Drift also lets you unlock new planes and upgrade their speed, handling, acceleration, and boost. If you're a decent racer, though, you won't need to rely so much on these upgrades.

If this beautiful, spinning arcade racer catches your fancy then you can purchase it for 69p / 99c on the App Store right now.

It'll be coming to Android as well at some point, but we're not sure when.
