Table Tennis Star comes to the iPhone

Pong gets converted to real life, then back again

Table Tennis Star comes to the iPhone

As strange and pointless as it might sound to us enlightened pocket gamers, some people actually get small bats, a table and a bouncy little ball and gather together in small crowds to play a real life variation of Pong called 'table tennis'.

I know! I can’t see the point either.

Anyway, the good news is that the Gold Award winning re-conversion of Pong, called Table Tennis Star, has now been ported to the iPhone - and considering the quality of the mobile original, this is quite exciting news.

This iPhone version - published by THQ - has the added benefit of big, clear 3D graphics, and judging by the reader reviews on the App Store, it’s shaping up to be a worthy successor to the mobile game, the bizarre non-digital real life thing, and the classic king of them all, Pong.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
