Supermassive is an explosive space shooter with big pixels, bigger attitude
Black hole
Supermassive is the word that scientists use to describe the biggest black holes they come across. They're very intimidating: enormous, matter-eating rips in space.
It's the daunting nature of the subject behind this word that encouraged Pixelnest Studio to use it for its space shooter.
You see, each new enemy you come across in Supermassive is bigger and meaner than the last.
The bosses are the most ferocious. Some fire streams of bullets to create hellish patterns for you to dodge. Others have massive lasers that take over half the screen.
The coolest part about these destructive weapons is that you can get ones of equal size. It's a battle between giants.
As you might expect, there will be the usual cannon fodder to shoot before meeting these bosses. But it's the big brutes that give the game its name, and what it's really all about.
As you can see in the teaser above, it'll be tough going. You should have a sense of the game's attitude as well. It's very raw, with big pixels and that doom-laden metal track (which probably isn't the soundtrack).
Supermassive seems to be kind of game you can play for short, intense bouts. It's the kind of thing that'll keep you energized throughout the day.
It'll be coming to iOS shortly, and Pixelnest are aiming to bring it to Android a few months after. You can find more information about Supermassive on its website.
