Failbetter Games notes a few differences between Sunless Sea's PC and iPad versions
But they're not all good
As I'm sure you're aware, Sunless Sea is headed to iPad tomorrow after a very exciting and nonchalant announcement a month or so ago. But it's not a direct port, as was announced on Twitter earlier today.
Failbetter Games (Fallen London) has sparked plenty excitement with this anticipated arrival. Sunless Sea is all about narrative, exploration, survival, loneliness, and maybe an act of cannibalism or two.Sunless Sea is coming to iPad tomorrow 23rd March! We thought we'd share a few changes between the PC an iPad version. — Failbetter Games (@failbettergames) March 22, 2017
According to their Twitter there at five distinctive things to know before tomorrow's launch.
- You won't need to manage your prow light too closely as it no longer consumes fuel.
- The same achievements as the PC version will be available via Apple's Game Centre.
- Once the firing solution has built up your ship will auto-fire, giving you more chance to concentrate on navigating around your enemy.
- There are two touch screen systems which can be switched in the game's menu.
- Since you'll be navigating by touch controls, your ship will only have one forward, stasis, and reverse speed.
Hopefully the play experience will feel as natural and immersive as it did on the PC version. I guess we only have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
