Spore delayed until 2009?

News is flying around that the latest issue of American mag Game Informer is reporting Will 'The Sims' Wright's next game Spore has be been postponed until 2009. At the earliest!

Although it is impossible to say without a copy of said publication, if this is true of the PC version then the same will go for the DS iteration of the game, too.

Neither the official Spore website nor EA's site has posted any news on the release slip.

Given the mind boggling scope of Spore – a game in which you nurture single celled organisms into planet conquering races of beings – we think this delay should be seen as an inevitable disappointment rather than a possible extinction event.
