Chillingo hopes to wipeout with Speed Forge Extreme

With Cobra Mobile's Low Grav Racer 2 due out on the App Store any day now, the race to be the best iPhone combat hover racer seems to be hotting up.

Chillingo's also just submitted Speed Forge Extreme, a Wipeout-style game from Polish startup Ratsquare.

As seems to be typical in these games, there's a bit of a backstory to provide motivation or something...

Mars 2142. It's been 60 years since the colonisation and thousands of factories and mines have sprung up across miles of the inhospitable red planet. In the past decade, industries prospered leading to vast settlements of over half a million inhabitants. Crime is rampant, time is abundant and the citizens are looking for some entertainment... Heavy duty hover vehicles, normally used for mining are now seen in illegal races organised in abandoned factories and dark Marsian alleys. Blah. Blah Blah.

More interesting is the news about 12 tracks, four arenas and six types of craft.

You can get a taste of the action from the following video.
