Sonic Mania hits Nintendo Switch on August 15th
Potentially for $20
Having delayed the iconic platformer until later this year, Sega has finally given us key information for Sonic Mania regarding pricing and its release date. Phoar.
Sonic Mania brings back the 2D platformer in all its glory with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles at hand. For kids born in the late 80s/early 90s, these games were pretty iconic of our childhoods, so I'm pretty stoked to see that they're bringing it back just as it is.
Plus, just to make things even more exciting a new trailer was released alongside the announcement, showing off some coold line-art animation and the three protagonists in-game.
You can pre-order Sonic Mania digitally now on Steam and Xbox for $19.99. We'll have to wait and see whether the price will be the same for the Nintendo Switch given that Switch games do tend to be a little pricier.
You've also got a Collector's Edition going for $69.99 in various US stores, and on Amazon UK for £79.99. This'll get you a deluxe box, Sega cartridge cast with a golden ring, a metallic collector's card/download card, and a 12" statue with Sega startup audio.
The game'll be arriving on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on August 15th 2017.
