Korean developer Gamevil's Baseball Superstars series finally has a buddy in the world of anime inspired, super customisable sport games.

Soccer Superstars is something of a departure from the world of super serious footie sims like X2 and FIFA. Instead, the game focuses on providing a fun soccer experience for players of all skill levels. And it packs some cute graphics to sell the casual approach.

It has five different modes, including Exhibition, My League, Season, Cup and Dramatic Mode. And you've also got an RPG like levelling system to build your player from rookie to superstar as you perform events, train them up and buy items for them.

And it wouldn't be a 'Superstars' game without being able to customise your player. You can name them whatever you like, and switch out their physical features and clothes. And we don't mean swapping out a blue shirt for a red shirt – you can play as a nurse, a maid or even a ninja.

Soccer Superstars is available now for iPhone and iPod touch for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99.
