Gameloft secures Shrek the Third mobile game
Once upon a time on a mobile not that far away
Summer blockbuster movies are synonymous with the licensed games they spawn these days, so it comes as no surprise that Shrek the Third is to be granted its own mobile game.
The deal between Gameloft and Dreamworks SKG will result in a mobile game based closely on the plot of the forthcoming film, featuring the grumpy green Scots ogre and his annoying but loveable talking donkey.
The game will release alongside the film in May, which centres around Shrek's quest to find a suitable king for the Kingdom of Far Far Away.
It's no secret that movie tie-ins have a bad reputation for too often being little more than haplessly churned out franchise cash-ins, but given Gameloft's track record for quality, our hopes are high that this mobile fairy tale will have a happy ending.
